  1. How do I place an ad?

Go to PLACE AN AD and follow the instructions.

  2. Who is allowed to list an ad?

Any Rotarian who is a member in good standing with a Rotary Club. This will be verified with the Rotarian’s club before the ad is accepted and put up on the website.

  3. Can I submit my ad electronically but make payment by check?

Yes. There is an additional $20 charge for payment by check.

  4. Can I do everything by mail and pay by check?

Yes. Just remember, it will take longer and cost you $20 more to do it this way.

  5. Why does it cost more if I mail the ad materials to you and/or pay by check?

We have to enter all your data by hand and deposit the check. If you submit your ad electronically and pay by credit card at the same time, we can handle it with a few clicks of the mouse.

  6. What do you mean by “a possibly significant error”?

This is an error that could mislead or confuse your potential customer.

Ex: Business Name: Sam’s Fish Farm

Description: We manufacture all types of Pre-Cast concrete products.

Ex: Business address: 1234 Main Street

    Denver, CO 66666-7777

Rotary Club affiliation: Kansas City, Mo-Downtown

  7. What do you mean by “ad unsuitability”?

This is an ad for a product or service that does not meet the standards of the Rotary 4-Way Test. An example would be a violation of Rotary International’s Rotary Code of Policies 8.060.0 par 8 which states “Neither seek from nor grant to a fellow Rotarian a privilege or advantage not normally accorded others in a business or professional relationship.”

We realize that “suitability” can be a highly subjective determination. The Directory reserves the right to reject any ad application that we think is unsuitable.

  8. Can I get a quantity discount if I submit several different ads?

  9. Each ad is considered individually. We have structured the pricing to be as economical as possible.

  10. Can I place an ad for a business that I do not work for, but in which I have an ownership interest ?

Not unless you are regularly involved in the operation of the business.

Each ad listing carries the Rotarian’s name that your customer will expect to speak to. One of the incentives for the potential customer in using this directory is that they will be dealing with another Rotarian.

  11. Can I place an ad for my spouse’s business in which I do not work?

An ad for a business for which you do not work would not pass the 4 Way Test. If your spouse joins Rotary they can then advertise in the Directory.

  12. Can I submit ads for more than one business?

Yes, if you are regularly involved in the operation of each of these businesses.

  13. The “Products/Services Offered” field is not enough space to list all our products/services

The field size is dictated by the software. If you need more space consider an additional ad under another classification that will increase the chances of a potential customer finding you.

  14. Who benefits from the money I pay for this ad?

YOU!! Your Rotary Club shares if they have signed an agreement with the Directory. Also the Rotary Club of Kansas City Missouri as the owner of this website, retains a certain amount for maintaining the website.

  15. Who will see my ad?

Anyone who has access to the internet. Your ad will reach far beyond your club’s membership and will be seen by all Rotarians who want to do business with other Rotarians plus anyone else with access to the internet.

  16. Why should I advertise in the Directory?

Because it will be good for your business, for you, and for your Rotary Club.

  17. We have three Rotarians in our company. They all belong to different Rotary clubs. Can each one have a different ad?

Yes. But each ad would have to be paid for as a separate ad, even if the Classification and descriptive fields in each ad were the same. Also, each different Rotary Club would have to have a relationship with the Directory.

  18. We have two Rotarians in our company. Can they both be listed in the same ad?

Only one Rotarian can be listed in each ad. Consider placing two ads under the same or different classifications to get more exposure. These would be considered two separate ads and would have to be paid for accordingly.

  19. Can I have several different Classifications for the same ad?

Yes. You can have up to 5 different classifications linking to the same ad. There will be an additional $10 charge for each additional Classification after the first one.

  20. Is my credit card payment over the internet secure?

Yes. Your credit card will be processed by Authorize.Net the world’s largest and most secure real-time credit card processor.
  21. How do I make a change in an existing ad?
